| August 2010Achilles accreditation |
The Wilde Group celebrates the award of the Achilles accreditation and an improvement on the previous years’ scores.
Following a two day audit at Head Office and a site visit the Wilde Group has been awarded the Achilles accreditation and received recognition for its commitment to health, safety, quality and the environment. This award has stringent requirements with regard to policies and procedures and focuses on how that information is communicated through the workforce. Some of the comments received were:
- The company has developed a good standard policy which covers the relevant areas. It has also developed a health and safety management system. The health and safety policy statement shows commitment and the management system implements that commitment. The commitment is continued within the activities on site.
- Site responsibilities were clearly defined and appropriate, and employees were involved in the continual improvement of health and safety through a number of methods such as monitoring, reporting accidents, incidents, near misses and training.
- The company are aware of their obligations to the health and welfare of their employees and take appropriate measures.
- Introduction of comprehensive job packs and re-vitalising their near miss reporting procedures demonstrates their commitment to continuous improvement. The acceptance of, and adherence to, the company's significantly improved Health and Safety systems and procedures illustrates the commitment of site personnel to continuous improvement.
Overall we have improved by the following percentages:
| |
Overall systems and procedures |
On site |
| Health and safety |
11% increase |
15% increase |
| Environment |
14% increase |
6% increase |
This accreditation compliments those already held by the Group – Constructionline and Chas - and demonstrates our commitment to health, safety and the environment. |

| March 2010Sponsor Simon - Venice Marathon |
|
Simon Peart, Director of CEM Fencing will be running his first 26 mile marathon in Venice on October 25th this year. Simon is keen to raise his self set target of £1000.00 towards The Wilde Group's chosen charity of the year The Northamptonshire & Warwickshire Air Ambulance, of which is run purely on donations .
Simon says
' It all stemmed from the fact i'm having a mid life crisis and felt that I needed a challenge . The challenge I have set myself is in 4 stages and over 3 years: Stage 1 was to complete a ½ Marathon (of which I have now done 2); Stage 2 is to complete a Marathon; Stage 3 is to complete a Triathlon and the final stage is to complete an Ironman'
It would be very much appreciated if you could help me raise some money for a good local charity by visiting my "Justgiving" page (link below or click on my photograph). Again, I hope you don't mind me asking, but if you feel you could support me in both my mid-life crisis and my fund-raising, I would really appreciate it.'
